Despite the good first weak enjoyed by the Mets, and the recent hot streak by the Yankees, this season may be a rough one for big league baseball in New York. It is possible that, for the first time since 1992, both the Yankees and Mets will finish below .500.

Today starts a new era in Mets history. Though I can't promise that 2013 will exactly be the kind of season Mets fans are longing for, I am confident that it will surely be a step in the right direction.
