One of my favorite parts of traveling and living abroad is that I meet kindred spirits. People who are also interested in growth through adventure and who have taken risks to travel and try out new things for the sake of developing themselves.

Although it appears that we may be more physically primed for sexual pleasures when young, there is great scope for a sexual renaissance. Sexual prime, then, is the result of "sexiness." And that, can peak at any age.

Desire is not the enemy to a happy and balanced life. It is not a roadblock to experiencing a higher self. In fact, desire can often be the driver for all that greater awareness and consciousness we so often seek.

By letting go of harmful desire, I got more of the physical depth that I'd wanted before, yet the shapes of the poses barely mattered now. What did matter was how good it felt to just be with what is and let go of what isn't.

In a rational culture like the United States where you are supposed to have a plan (and a retirement plan), it can feel countercultural to follow a quirky whisper, intuition or impulse.

Whenever I lecture on the how-to's of manifesting, there seems to be a lot of confusion about how to actually do it. I believe that manifesting is simply exercising your ability to harness the power of your intention.

The same life energy that leads to suffering also provides the fuel for profound awakening. Desire becomes a problem only when it takes over our sense of who we are.

The best place to begin is always with gratitude. Don't wait until you feel better to do this work. Now is the time. You will never arrive. You will never get where you think you're going, because life will always take you in a direction you couldn't have imagined.

Meditation is important for every human being. Meditation fulfills the natural tendency of human life to look for a joy that does not diminish, a love that does not get distorted or turn into negative emotions.

The art is to pursue wholesome desires with enthusiasm, discipline, and skill without getting all hot and bothered about them, and to enjoy life's pleasures without getting attached to them.
