Kids are changing faster in these years of early adolescence than at any time since infancy. They're trying to figure out not only how their bodies work but who they are going to be and where they fit in.
Stymied by the difficult-to-explain narrative and reviews that couldn't see past the fishnets and colorful visuals, the film is another example of geek excitement not translating into mainstream interest.
There was a multitude of new wide and limited releases this weekend, but the top of the box office remained the same, if only for one more weekend. Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland again claimed the top spot.
