So often bullying is based on rejection -- really, the inner rejection of parts of ourselves that we cannot or do not wish to own or acknowledge.
We have to start by not disowning the bullies or blaming slipshod parenting but by taking tangible steps to teach all teenagers -- and all adults -- to know that they are valued for their differences.
