Far too many people find it all but impossible to differentiate between science and pseudoscience. Unfortunately, it appears that USA Today falls into the group unable, or unwilling, to distinguish between the two.

If I'm wrong about the Discovery Institute's intent, we'll soon be seeing them urging school boards to completely rework their basic physics curricula over the "controversy" surrounding gravity. But I'm not holding my breath.

So what did Chris Comer, Director of Science for the Texas Education Agency, do to get fired? The TEA claims she violated their "neutrality" policy by taking a position in favor of teaching evolution over creationism.

Studies continue to show that U.S. students' science literacy is very poor. The science curriculum advanced by creationist organizations make an already bad situation far worse.

Creation shows so well that in Emma, as in society at large, the tension between religion and science need not be ignored but can be played out in productive and respectful manners.

Religious fundamentalists have begun promoting creationism in Russia -- and they are doing so using many of the same strategies and buzzwords adopted by fellow extremists in the United States.

The Discovery Institute and its main supporters, supporters who have pumped millions of dollars into their efforts, want to remake both science and the United States into their religious image.

My recommendation? Go to Facebook and become a fan of the page entitled "We can find 1,000,000 people who DO believe in Evolution before June."

I want to introduce you to regular people who have made a difference in the quality of the science education, in reaffirming that religion and science can coexist, and in demonstrating to all of us that it is possible to make a powerful statement in support of evolutionary biology.

While it is true that Americans consistently reject evolution to a greater extent than people in the rest of the developed world, creationism has increasingly become a matter of contention around the world.

Chester Harris claims that proponents of evolution "haven't proven anything. It's all still theory and faith." Wrong! Wrong! And Wrong! It is amazing that Harris can make three significant errors in a mere nine words.

In case you had any doubt, the last nail was just placed in the coffin of intelligent design (ID). And, in case you had any doubt, that last nail joins many others that have been in place for quite some time.
