It seems the country is operating with two sets of "facts" right now: the "facts" broadcasted on FOX, and the "facts" broadcasted on the mainstream media. When the truth no longer matters, it's time to worry.
Obama wants -- no desperately needs -- to win a big victory on health care, or at least the appearance of a victory, even if it means scrapping the only thing that really represents true health care reform.
Can anyone tell me of any wall to wall on-site coverage of peace movement events over the past six years where the corporate press offered extensive air-time to listen to progressive leaders? I don't recall that ever happening. Do you?
Corporate honchos at GE and News Corp making back-room editorial decisions for the "news" subsidiaries they control? I can't help but think it might not be the best thing for the integrity of journalism.
