Bush's wars: Afghanistan, Iraq and... Contraception?
Ever the surpriser, Smirky just launched what is presumably the last topping on the sundae of his legacy: a full-scale war on reproductive rights.

The president reversed his predecessors' good, conservative fiscal policies -- responsible stewardship of revenues and expenditures. So who's drunk?
In his speech Thursday in Philadelphia, the Dalai Lama explained that to reach a point where nations would outwardly disarm, people must first inwardly disarm.
If you want to tell that gorilla rape joke to your spouse or parents, have at it. If Senator McCain wants to tell a joke like that, he embarrasses more than just himself.
After it first gained wide attention here at HuffPost yesterday, media commentators started weighing in on the video of Bush joking about Wall Street getting "drunk." Here is some other commentary.
Gov. Schwarzenegger, an ardent backer of McCain's presidential bid, showed us his real vision of a "post-partisan" future, only it looks very much like the Bush/Rove past.
Bugliosi had to end the interview because he was being called by "a very conservative member of Congress" who he claimed had heard the audio book version and it "had convinced him that Bush misled Congress."
I was extremely confused by Bush's rosy economic speech. Here my local bank, IndyMac, is collapsing, with distraught customers waiting in line for hours last week to get their money.
Condi needs to either convince the president what a catastrophe attacking Iran would be. Or, failing that, break with the administration and do the noble thing by resigning while it still might make a difference.
These days, whenever a statesman stands at a podium, I imagine President Bush there instead, and I wonder: "How much more eloquent would his words be? How much more visionary?"
To avoid stress, and especially since Bush's re-election, I've avoided mentioning that I'm American, and have even resorted to saying that I'm from Ottawa, a lovely capital city I know a bit about.
Whether influential, intriguing or simply offensive, these celebrities, politicians and pop culture icons have caught my eye for helping the planet, saving money on gas and looking sweet atop the seat.
By redefining abortion to include the most common and effective methods of birth control, the Bush administration is attempting to deprive basic contraceptive services to women around the country.
Obama's Afghan appearance won't stop the criticism from foes that he doesn't know enough about fighting and winning a war, and that his credential as a tough guy on the war against terrorism is suspect.
Last week the Bush Administration issued a letter waiving the annual application process and review for the Title V Abstinence-Only State Grant Program.
It is impressive that, after all these years of idiocy and bad policy making, that George W. Bush is able to shock me as well. And, it wasn't only national leaders who were in shock.

Clinton was more conservative then Bush. They are going to have to explain what being conservative means.
I always get the right and left mixed up because I'm right and I'm not a Republican, who the h##l gave out these names?
McCain = Empire building = endless wars - terror, drugs, resource grabs, and occupations of sovereign nations - unitary government and emasculation of Congress, the courts and the Constitution, resource sucking military and police, corporate welfare and continued weakening of social benefits and ever increasing prison population.
Obama is not perfect, but he will at least slow some of these trends and just maybe stop one or two. The question is whether we want a democracy. I will vote for Obama.
You are sadley right about McCain. He has the neocons on his side. Even more so than Bush, I believe. Screw the totalitarian, Republican McCain. I miss the conservatives of past - they had integrity for the Constitutional process, which Republicans have trashed in recent years. Barry Goldwater is rolling in his grave. I'll take my chances with Obama.
McCain reeks ... dissaster!
