I'd been downsized. Thrown under the bus. I had thought I didn't like spending my precious days on Earth sealed into a box at Time Warner headquarters, where I toiled in corporate communications, but I had no idea how alienated I was. Now, anything was possible.

It's no shame to admit that there are mismatches between people and other people, cultures and values and styles and priorities, every day. A mismatch doesn't mean that one person is right and the other one is wrong. It doesn't mean that people who get fired are useless and unworthy.
