Is there anything that sends people into a more of an emotional tailspin than spending a few days with a parent who may be responsible for screwing up their lives? Probably not, and Jessa's loaded interactions with her father in "Video Games" is living (fictional) proof.

After last week's controversial Hannah/Joshua episode, I was beginning to worry that "Girls" had slipped into a sad, dream-like state in which Hannah would hopelessly drift around Brooklyn thinking about her terribly shitty life. Luckily, I was wrong.

I dearly missed the presence of Marnie, Jessa and Soshanna on this week's episode of "Girls." This is partially due to the balance and wit their characters provide in the midst of sad and ridiculous plot lines, but also because Hannah has officially hit a big fat zero on the togetherness scale.

This week's episode of "Girls" saw explosive arguments, breaking glass, and life-changing discoveries. Butt plugs were discussed, lovers faced adversity, and heroin addictions were revealed. And it all happened in a 30-minute span on HBO!

Marnie is alone, George dumps Elijah because he f***ed Marnie (It was only three pumps!), Adam is sending Hannah shirtless videos of himself singing about his broken heart, and Hannah decides to break up with Sandy because he's a Republican.

Let's take a moment to rejoice. After 10 episodes of dysfunctional relationships, cringe-inducing sex and a hasty marriage, "Girls" has finally returned to grace us with another season of sexual and professional disasters and occasional triumphs.

In the season finale of HBO's "Girls," Hannah and Marnie go forward with their "break-up," while Adam gets serious. Meanwhile, Jessa throws a very important impromptu party, much to the displeasure of Shoshanna.

Hannah is resentful of the literary success of a former classmate, while Marnie finally comes to her breaking point with supporting Hannah financially and emotionally. Meanwhile, Jessa gets an unexpected visitor.

Adam goes and pulls one of the most inappropriate -- and disgusting -- acts that I have ever seen on TV, which makes me hate him even more than I hated him after he made Hannah cry on your toilet seat.

The episode opens on a shot of Jessa, Hannah, and Marnie on their way to a warehouse party in Bushwick. Jessa is almost carrying off a feathery get-up that's half dying swan, half Tina Turner in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

This one night in Bushwick, Hannah sees Adam out of his natural habitat (and in a shirt!), Marnie deals with the realization that Charlie has moved on, Jessa looks like David Bowie and Shoshanna accidentally does crack.

Hannah heads home to Michigan in this week's episode of HBO's "Girls," and it makes her question her life back in New York City. Plus, for the first time in this entire series, she and Adam have a normal conversation.

I constantly find myself going back and forth between loving Hannah and wanting to smack her head into a wall. This week, it's the latter.

It was only a matter of time before Adam (accidentally) sent Hannah a picture of his disgusting junk ... leading her to send him an X-rated photo of her boobs, against Marnie's advice.

There's a scene at the end of this week's episode of "Girls" where Hannah and Marnie dance around to Robyn's "Dancing On My Own." That was the moment I knew that Hannah had finally won me over.
