Perhaps there's a more "spiritually scientific" way to interpret the seminal assertion of Genesis 1:1, one that honours the sacred nature of the texts while utilising science's contribution to our current knowledge
It really doesn't matter what you believe about the origins of life because there's a single fact that unites us: it is a mystery. The fact that we're here at all is a total, mind-boggling mystery.
God is the first, the best, and the eternal gardener. Viewed biblically, the day God ceases to garden is also the day we all perish. I have never heard a preacher say that, but it is true.
