God is love. The reason the love that is God can set us free is because that unquatifiable peace was the very nature of existence before the universe was born.
The notion of aging as a spiritual practice could be seen as just the latest of these baby boomer projects: "We're going to do aging differently and better than anyone!"
We never "find" hope at all. Rather, we create hope, and we do so through love, empathy, and compassion. We create hope through the care we bring to any situation.
The radiance of love's eternal light gives rise to the universe. The goal of love is to overcome separation, to bridge gaps, to bring the two lovers together as one. If love is to do its work, people must recognize the light and love it in return.
God is not a force who acts on the world through coercion, violence or the suspension of physics and free will. God is a verb, an action we bring to the world to make love, justice, mercy, joy and goodness known.
