After loss or trauma, most of us wish that tomorrow would look the same as yesterday did before all of these difficulties. If we are lucky, we give up hope and say the words that open us to resilience and creativity: "This is awful,and I don't think it will change. What now?"
Hope gives a glimpse of possibility not seen in the darkness. Hope shows the way, but for an instant only. We must act on it or it becomes nothing more than a pleasant memory, a feel-good moment.
For one night, we will not talk about politics but rather use the power of music to embrace our diversity. We will do something politicians have failed to do and that is bring people together.
