The Avengers is veined with wit, even as it offers exactly the kind of action that fanboys and normal movie-goers alike want out of something like this.
The Avengers doesn't solve this problem of what to confront for us. Art rarely gives us definitive answers; it more often asks questions than answers them. But by bringing this current to the service, it could at least remind us of the possibilities open to us.
It's a good thing that, when push comes to shove, we're really not rugged individualists. I'm thinking that it's almost time for us to accept who we are.
