With Obama up in polls, the Palin narrative unraveling, and McCain embracing the mantle of underdog, events are starting to answer the question of whether Obama should have picked Hillary.

Unless an electrifying name we have not heard is in the wings, only Clinton would be a really big story. Which is, of course, not necessarily what Obama needs.

To ignore the passion, grittiness and success of Hillary's efforts, and anoint a secondary figure like Evan Bayh, is a definitive act that would be hard to interpret as anything but a slap in the face.

It seems Barack Obama has scratched Hillary Clinton from his list of possible running mates. He should rethink his situation. Few potential picks help him at all. Hands down, Hillary helps the most.

Hillary is the only Democrat who gives Obama a statistically significant boost in any national poll results. This is not a criticism of other candidates. This is simply a fact.
