As we worship Shiva on Shivaratri, let Shiva also become our teacher. May we learn from him the value of detachment, the positive possibilities in change, the ability to see divinity where we least expect, and a renewed value for nature as a sacred gift.
While I loved the film, I also felt sympathetic to people who are hurt and offended by what feels like an attack on their faith. I support anyone who wants to screen the film, but this is a game-changer.
Hindu myths have survived much over the centuries. In the present day, mythology may not seem overtly in danger of extinction, but it will have to be thought through carefully to remain as vibrant and vital as it has been.
