For so many people today, that intimacy -- personal and sexual -- seems elusive. The brave new movie Hope Springs (just out on DVD) gives us a look at a marriage in which intimacy is absent.
This is the first movie since It's Complicated that portrays sexual relationships in folks past 40. It bravely tackles the complex issues of sexual desire and intimacy in "seniors," however we may define that term.
It's kind of like sex. The new Meryl Streep-Tommy Lee Jones movie, Hope Springs, can be a little messy and uneven. You need to take your time with it, be patient and open. But it is ultimately satisfying.
