When I think of a ballpark hot dog, I think of topping it with caviar and truffles. The Brockton Rox are celebrating National Hot Dog day this Saturday by trying to set the Guinness record for most expensive hot dog.

We could be in the final days of the NFL lockout. So all at once they'll open training camps and sign free agents at a dizzying clip. Too bad, I was sort of hoping they'd deep-six some of those meaningless exhibition games.

The NBA fired 11 percent of its work force. Then they issued a press release saying, "The layoffs are not a direct result of the lockout." I have to check the rule book. I think that's the definition of double drivel.
