My children used to tease me, on my fear of climbing Yosemite's daunting Half Dome: "I bet if John Muir were up there you would go." I told them Muir would never give me a second look even if I scaled Half Dome's sheer face: "to get his attention, you'd have to wear bark."
Scientific integrity, logic, reason and the scientific method are core to the strength of our nation. We may disagree about matters of opinion and policy, but we (and our elected representatives) must not misuse, hide or misrepresent science in service of our preferences and ideology.
I suspect those who only watch the first few episodes will be teetering on the edge of boredom. Those who stay around longer, or just cherry-pick an episode to watch among the later ones will end up much more excited and satisfied.
