I think that finding a career fit is very much like my childhood dream of flying. It may be frightening at first, but once you go for it, and find a good fit (your sweet spot), you do it naturally, with a passion and a purpose, and can actually live the dream!
I retired from psychiatry and began writing fiction -- full-time. I'll soon to be 71 and am finally doing what I always wanted: writing heart-pumping thrillers. It's never too late to live the dream.
I'd like us to ask ourselves if our quality of life and our level of fulfillment are as good as we had hoped it would be, or if instead we are letting ourselves be ruled by greed vs. goodness and compassion toward others.
