Ms. Wilson's voice is the feature here and she did not disappoint, but despite a generally pleasing performance, it was a bit disappointing that Ms.Wilsons' voice was not highlighted more and that band, however good, was more in the background.

When the crooner Giacomo Gates tackles a project, you never know what to expect, but you can pretty much take it to the bank that it will be both entertaining and interesting.
The Revolution Will Be Jazz is certainly a noble homage to Gil Scott-Heron and his work. Mr. Ruffin should be proud of the results. With this album Mr. Gates has successfully ventured into new ground.
