Imagine secret agent Angus MacGyver with access to the technology of a Fortune 500 aerospace enterprise. But, this time, he's not fighting bad guys. He's facing a challenge that would intimidate even James Bond. He's doing battle with budget.
Like previous SNL-skits-turned-movies, MacGruber's entertainment value is stretched thin over the length of a feature film. There are a few funny jokes, but not nearly enough to cover the running length.
The Philanthropist suffers from a misunderstanding of philanthropy and perpetuates the Global North's stereotypes. Viewers should know they don't need a million dollars and a private jet to make a difference.
