I was bullied as an eighth grader. A year later I read a journal I had kept during that time. I read entries that said when I was "older" I had to do something to stop this from happening to another girl. That's where the idea of the Girl's Group started.
It's one thing to work with other people's children and to role play for possible scenarios they may encounter. It's a much more nerve-racking ballgame to have the day come when your own child is smack dab in the middle of mean girl behavior.

Why do we need to hurt, put down, insult, and otherwise belittle others to make ourselves feel good? I'm sure there are many, many answers and reasons to the broad societal issue of bullying, but with girls, there seems to be an additional impetus.
