The beauty of public service is that it enables one to change the world through community involvement. The greater essence of civic engagement is that it allows people to begin taking a vested interested in the advancement of their communities.

SRA assists and teaches these kids not only how to get into college and take advantage of every grant and scholarship that might be out there, but they also pledge to work with them until graduation.

I realized two things right then. Each of our worlds seemed to becoming less alien to the other. Also, just like that, I was a trusted adult in this kid's life. What started on something of a whim, with the five minutes it took me to fill out that online form, was now very real.

With a spare bedroom and a desire to make a difference, Nancy, a retired nurse, realized that she had the resources and skills to help one of the thousands of other people like her sister.

We need to save service because service is the fabric of our nation. Service empowers people in the most challenging circumstances to lift up their communities and each other.
