Millenials Voting

Millennials. You may have heard the term. Those born after 1977 are more optimistic, service-oriented and progressive than Gen X'ers.

The idea that the GOP can get all of their members to sign up for Twitter, flip its position on gay marriage and suddenly have young voters rushing to join the party misses the point.

My students may not think of themselves as "Generation O," but what they see in Obama is someone whose informality, belief in personal disclosure, and fondness for teamwork parallels theirs.

Many believe that if Millenials are online activists and information seekers, we are not also at rallies or organizing at our schools. This is just patently untrue.
