The gathering here is an example of the way politics is changing, as supporters both use and bypass mainstream media and traditional political groups, mixing online networking with old-style street demonstrations.

On June 21, Crowley began tearing apart the MoveOn "Alex" ad and she played 23/6's parody as she went to commercial, without crediting us. Annoying. When she came back from commercial, she played our parody again but this time she claimed she created it.

As I watch the mom in the MoveOn "Alex Ad" tell McCain he can't have her baby son, I'm reminded of how naive I was eight years ago. I had no idea I was working to keep my son out of war at the time.

John Cusack's righteous rage over the billions being pocketed in Iraq by companies like Blackwater, and Halliburton, is the beating heart of his brilliant War Inc. The film pulls off the near-impossible: it finds a savage, reality-altering humor amidst the tragedy of Iraq. READ MORE The Big Story You May Have Missed During the Obama v. Clinton Finale The Senate Intelligence Committee's "Phase II" report on how the Bush White House used -- and abused -- pre-war intelligence in the run-up to the war in Iraq never uses the word, but we all know what it's called when someone presents something as fact that's directly contradicted by the evidence. A lie. Not a mistake. A lie. READ MORE Five Word Speech Submissions: Boy, Are You Guys Good!

The mainstream media seems intent on confirming that it has so internalized the Right's framing and messages they have now become part of its DNA. The first of the latest round of exhibits proving this was offered into evidence during last week's ABC debate. This was followed by the New York Times' epic revelation of the unseemly complicity between the Pentagon and the media in delivering the Bush administration's talking points on Iraq via "a kind of Trojan media horse" -- Pentagon-approved, prepped, and financially-enriched "military analysts" dutifully parroting the Bush party line, with nary a raised eyebrow from the TV stations and newspapers offering these highly-decorated sock puppets their prestigious platforms. And it's not just the media. Witness Hillary Clinton repeating the Rove-promoted lie that MoveOn was against intervention in Afghanistan after 9/11.
