Murkowski Resolution

Senators who exclaimed that global warming is a pressing problem voted to block the EPA from dealing with it. If you believe this is a crisis, why wouldn't you want to fight it with every weapon available?

The Republican leadership chose to turn a simple question -- should Congress respect the integrity of the Clean Air Act -- into an exercise in petty partisanship. They failed in their purpose.

Going back to a failed approach and deepening our oil addiction, as Sen. Murkowski's amendment would do, at the very moment a massive spill is devastating families and businesses runs contrary to our national interests.
