Since "New Girl" made its debut in September 2011, fans have been waiting for Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) to get together and they ...
After a three week hiatus, the gang reconvenes to tell the tales of how they lost their virginity. This is prompted by Schmidt's scheduled close encounter with Elizabeth, the college girlfriend we met last episode.
We are now witnessing the world's most drawn-out foreplay and it's getting a bit exhausting. When people worried that Nick and Jess were moving too fast and "whatever will they do in Season 3 to keep up the tension?" well, those people did not see this coming, and neither did I.
"New Girl" fans have relished putting together the puzzle that is Nick Miller, TV's most lovable thirtysomething curmudgeon. Back in January, the epis...
Jess realizes she is super attracted to newly responsible Nick. No, like really. She wants him bad. So much so that she shoos him out of the bathroom for no apparent reason when he comes in to do laundry.
With their 10 year anniversary of living together just around the corner, Schmidt and Nick decide to plan a party. Or rather, Schmidt does, because that's his thing and he also doesn't trust Nick so much.
"A woman cannot be in close quarters with three men and kiss one of them," Schmidt explains to Jess. "What fuels men? Competition, and sex. That's why the United Nations was born, that's why girls aren't allowed on pirate ships, and that's why there's a No Nail Oath in apartment 4D."
Jess' way of dealing with the situation is talking it out with herself, preferably with Cece in the room. Nick kissed her, but she did kiss him back, and yea, she "saw through space and time for a minute," but she doesn't like Nick.
Given that there was some Twitter chatter about this episode, and given that Fox was promoting this week's installment more actively than normal, it was not hard to figure out what was up with "Cooler."
Nick is determined to drive over to Jess' student's house and prove his theory right. Jess, hoping to dissuade him and/or be there to bail him out of jail for trespassing, joins in. This provides for a much needed Nick-Jess alone time.
I look forward to watching New Girl every Tuesday as part of my weekly dose of TV comedy. Yet I find myself wondering if this is a downhill trend; charming can sometimes turn into predictable after a while.
Has "Revenge" Season 2 taken a turn for the worse? Is "Glee" still worth watching for more than just the music? Did "Boardwalk Empire" lose its way?
