Nineteenth Amendment

On this date in 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified by the necessary two-thirds of the states and women were granted the right to vote. Somewhere Abigail Adams was smiling.

Though the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution giving women the right to vote was not ratified until 1920, women in Colorado had earned the right to vote before this time.
