Obama Don?T Ask

The way some of the survey questions are structured is enough to make one think that its creators are as obsessed with gay sexuality as those who practice it regularly.

While "don't ask don't tell" has humiliated and ruined the careers of many soldiers, Arabic linguists have suffered disproportionately from the policy -- and at a time when their skills are indispensable.

What is missing from the DADT debate is the stories of soldiers who survived it, who know what it is like waiting for the other shoe to drop if someone suspects too much. This was my life for nearly five years in the U.S. Army.

To those "leaders," gay veterans aren't your dirty little secret anymore. We're not going to shut up, or go away, until those like us who currently serve are able to scream without the threat of disciplinary action.
