Obama Moves to the Center

My problem isn't that Obama doesn't always agree with me. My problem is that he has started to not always agree with himself -- falling prey instead to the Conventional Wisdom sirens.

The movement that Obama created launched his campaign to a higher altitude than the conventional path. Now he needs to stay on message, keep making sense and let the center catch up with him.

We should always hold politicians to high standards. But in the end we should always accept that those we hold close are the ones who -- whatever their flaws -- land highest in their deeds, and enrich our lives the most.
