Pardon the obvious tardiness, but as often occurs, life got in the way. So, no more procrastination, here are my favorite films of the just finished year.

Once again, here's my top ten of 2009 -- an interesting year for movies. And no, I haven't seen Avatar yet.

The Hannah Montana Movie officially grossed $32.3 million over the weekend, which includes a whopping $17.4 million Friday.

I got a chance to screen Seth Rogan's new film, Observe & Report in Santa Monica the other night and it's certainly not your average comedy.

Whether or not Observe and Report is a good film is open to debate. But criticizing a black comedy/social satire for having unlikable characters, awkward situations, and uncomfortable material is awfully foolish.

Observe and Report may be the smartest dumb comedy since Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.

Here's an idea. Don't see this movie this weekend. Stand up and say no. Why should we spend our good money watching a movie where we get raped for comedic purposes?

Rogen, often a writer and producer on his comedies, is just a gun for hire in Observe and Report. This darker, often violent, bizarre and mostly unfunny movie is not the best choice for him.
