A first impression goes a long way. That's true with people, and I think it's also true with books. When I'm choosing a new book, once I get past the title and the author, it's the first line--or first few lines--that make the decision for me.
Now we continue our 'the films of 2012' lists with another favorite, the underrated! And as always, this list won't just be good films that were labeled as "bad," but also mediocre films that got unfairly pounded, or genuinely bad films that nonetheless deserved credit for one element or another.
Heigl is good at talking the talk -- speaking out about the inherent sexism in the movie industry -- but she seems almost willfully against challenging the norms of gender in cinema that she criticizes.
