Over the last decade there have been many lively -- even heated -- debates surrounding best approaches to support children affected by HIV and AIDS. At last year's International AIDS Conference, there was one issue most could agree on -- thank goodness for PEPFAR!

Those who rallied behind PEPFAR expressed a fundamental value -- that where you live should not determine if you live. As we look back on a decade of work, we can say proudly that those resources were not only effective, but transformational to individuals and communities alike.

Ending the AIDS epidemic is no longer a hopeful metaphor -- it is a choice. Do we begin to end this disease now, or do we blithely pass it on to future generations?
