In a One Big Tent America, everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed. We shouldn't trade in the legacy of the New Deal and Fair Deal for a Raw Deal....

Resolutions, Political Resolutions and Damned Lies

Democrats called the latest formal list of Republican promises the "Pledge to Destroy America." The destruction was done by the damned lies that denigrated trust in political institutions. It was deliberately done to diminish America's democratic government.

In the midst of the debt ceiling frenzy, nobody seems to have noticed that Obama is negotiating in a markedly different way than what we've seen from him in the past. He is at the absolute center of the showdown.

GOP Not Sweating Breaking Their Budget-Cutting Promise

HuffingtonPost.com | Jason Linkins | Posted 05.25.2011 | Politics

Prior to taking office, the GOP made a bunch of promises to the American people about what they would do to make everything perfect again. They wrote them down, in a "Pledge To America." Then they went to a hardware store, one of America's most sacred places, to unveil their promises. And there was one promise so nice that they promised it twice! It was pretty easy to understand: $100 billion of government spending cuts in "the first year alone." But it turns out that many of the House GOP's promises have something of a transient nature, and in this case, words seem to have no real meaning.
