Public Funding for Elections

The DISCLOSE Act is good start at addressing the expected upsurge in independent political spending to influence elections, but may fall far short of addressing the source of the problem: direct special interest funding.

It's high time Congress wakes up. Get behind reform and take the special interest money out of politics now, before the price of political retribution skyrockets beyond control.

None of the crises facing us all -- from the global banking system to global warming -- can be dealt with if a tiny number of super-rich corporations have a veto over every inch of progress.

This legislation will not be adopted without a hard fight. The special interests who benefit from the "pay to play" political system will not willingly concede defeat.
