Celebrities love publicity, but not all publicity is good. Especially on Twitter. The famous are learning that just because you say something on Twitter in 140 characters doesn't make it less offensive. Sometimes that lesson comes at a high cost.

I think that we walk a very dangerous road when we turn the volume and the heat up so high and -- in this age of Twitter and Facebook -- so quickly that the only possible outcome is war. Often, the casualty is to make enemies out of those who could be allies.

There seems to be a pattern here: smack the ish out, whip dat ass, bowl down your alley, sit in your pew. GLAAD and NBJC say it exposes something ugly and, pointing to Martin's history, that it's time for CNN to show him the door.
