Some of us recycle them, but more than half end up in the landfills where they decompose, releasing methane, an intense global warming gas. They're a massive misuse of natural resources and energy.

At the school where I teach, we held a friendly "Catalog Canceling Challenge" among grades three, four, and five to see which group of kids could cancel the most catalogs in thirty days.
