Heading into its second season, HBO's The Newsroom has been controversial since day one, and Adina Porter has been all the more thrilled to be involved as the sparks have flown.

By inserting a fictional cast into the framework of real-world events, Aaron Sorkin has provided both an outspoken opinion on American politics and a starting point for research into any number of financial and political issues facing the country.

I worried that I'd been too cynical and too hard on the show. But the second episode, "Newsnight 2.0," did not do much to bolster my hopes for "The Newsroom."
