Just above the buckle of the Bible Belt lie Simpson and Allen Counties. The demographics of the two counties are nearly indistinguishable. Except that one is Republican and the other Democratic.

All but one of the Democrats I talked to at the courthouse voted for Clinton. All of them will vote for the Democratic Party ticket in November, they said, even if Obama is the nominee.
