I am often struck when reading through our commentators how unabashedly they speak in terms of faith, God and prayer. And how awkward it makes so many people feel today.

By letting go we may feel free. On the seventh day, our Creator did not just rest, the Holy One let go. It was God's final and perhaps most important lesson to us. There is a time to let go.

If God had wanted to establish a religion at Sinai, there would have been no need for a kingdom or nation. The Torah aims at far more than collective belief or individual enlightenment.
