Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming

This week, when leaders from the world's 20 biggest economies gather in Pittsburgh, I am looking for their commitment to a clean energy economy as the backbone of a rejuvenated global economy.

Who could have predicted that hiring basically anyone off the street and training them for two hours in a "white-collar sweatshop" would lead to something like this?

This is a big deal, even if you don't particularly care about inside Congressional baseball. The Energy and Environment Subcommittee has something the Select Committee does not: subpoena power and legislative jurisdiction.
