There is a long history of not hearing about outstanding women, or forgetting them when they die. It's part and parcel of not seeing them represented in public places. Making women visible in Central Park would be an important step in correcting this.
One must legitimately ask where this assault on women will stop. What will conservative Republicans think they can get away with next if there isn't an uprising saying, "We will not accept this attack on women!"
By allowing the roll call to take place, Obama would honor not just what Hillary Clinton achieved with her 18 million votes, but the promise of even greater accomplishments by Democratic women in the future.
