Even if you haven't ever been to Vermont, you've got some Green Mountains in your mind. I know you do. There's that image of a town with candles in windows. There are those trees tapped for sugaring. And there's that swirling nighttime snow.
Here's the irony of Mitt Romney's 47 percent: he hails himself as an economic savior because he knows how to create jobs, yet many of the jobs he had a hand in creating through his work at Bain Capital fall right into that 47 percent.
In order to understand Romney's reliance on his Bain Capital experience, one must also gain an understanding about how private equity works, the prevailing general ignorance about which has, thus far, benefitted the Romney campaign.
Republican, Democrat: Who cares? It's time to unite our talents and willingness to ask the hard questions of what it takes to re-grow our businesses, schools, and communities. It's time to be more than we thought we could be. Here's to our Year of Destiny.
