Focused on honoring our veterans on Veterans Day, earlier this month, we may not even have noticed the unsung heroes and heroines standing directly behind so many of them, just out of view -- the caregiver partners of the severely injured.
Children and husbands are often viewed as a burden to startup life -- distractions that prevent entrepreneurs from focusing all their time and effort on the business. Rarely do we give credence to the benefits of having a strong, supportive partner.
While I'm not naturally an advice-giver (it always feels a bit too hubristic and bud-insky to me), I came up with what I thought were insightful, pithy guides to keeping your marriage sane and alive. I thought I had something to give here.
The general level of happiness in older marriages increases with the years they are together. Compared to couples who marry in their twenties, those who married significantly later report less work-related stress, less marital conflict and more couple interaction and satisfaction.
