Now that most nations finally acknowledge anti-Semitism as a scourge, adding criticism of the Jewish State to the list undermines the precious credibility of a hard-fought brand. It clouds rather than clarifies.

The establishing of the State of Israel I have and do support. However there are conflicting messages I no longer can ignore. While eating dinner overlooking the Shepherd's Field in Bethlehem, I noticed that on the crown of the hill sits a recently built Jewish settlement.

The time has come to take the next step and ask whether we can in fact exist at all without an external enemy, without anti-Semitism.

No responsible organization should dignify intellectually disreputable and morally loathsome positions. There is enough to argue about without inviting the haters into the conversation.
