Hell has frozen over. Hell, Michigan that is. Hell is a charming little hamlet an hour outside Detroit, near Ann Arbor. Established in the 1840s, around the same time Michigan last experienced such hellish weather.
In case you missed it somehow, half a million people in Michigan lost power this past week after a horrendous ice storm. Not only was it the Christmas season, but this was after 300,000 had lost power less than two months ago in another storm.
We don't have to pretend to enjoy the winter if spring is our preference, but what if we could consciously embrace the season, understanding it is a prerequisite -- a rite of passage -- for the spring to follow.
