With talk radio almost uncontested, too many of today's conservative talkers take advantage of the fact that if you tell a lie big enough, people will believe it. Is it any wonder that large numbers of Americans still think the president is a Muslim or a foreigner or worse?

So why is Rush's show so "popular?" Why do hundreds of stations around the country carry his show, the most widely syndicated talkfest in the country? The real story is not generally well-known.

This year at the New Media Seminar, awards were given to people who have made a real impact on the radio profession. I just think there have to be other people who might be more humane, or even human.
