I love being in the classroom, but it is the opportunity to be part of the transformation of public education that has kept me there.
After four years, I'm stepping out of the classroom. It's a tough choice, but the reality is that I believe I can make the biggest impact on public education from outside the walls of my school.
Often, what teachers need in order to stay in the classroom is permission to step out of it for a time. It gives us perspective, balance, and new skills.
