There's something to be said for the negative effects that energy drinks seem to cause, and I call on us teens to be more mindful of the substances we put in our bodies. We are what we drink, so a twist on a classic saying goes, and it's high time for teens to grasp that.

As parents, we tell our children not to drink coffee since it might "stunt your growth," but we do not tell them not to drink these caffeine-loaded energy drinks since it might kill them. The risks and severity of the dangers of these drinks are not being recognized.
