It's my (and many others') pick for the best rock concert movie ever: Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz. For those in the dark, this was Scorsese's filming of The Band's farewell concert at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom on Thanksgiving Day, 1976.

Before he died on April 19, 2012 Helm gave specific instructions from his hospital bed to carry on the tradition of the Ramble. His exact words were, "Keep it goin."

This year being the 25th anniversary of the release of the Talking Heads' concert classic Stop Making Sense, I spoke with Talking Heads Jerry Harrison and Chris Frantz on the cult favorite.

More than any other director I can think of, Scorsese is totally, 100% committed to the art of cinema, the classic example of someone doing what he's best at and what he loves. This is a man gloriously consumed by film.
